contams---what now?

recently a batch of 5 jars went sour in my friends incubator, but in that incubator there are 17 more jars. I'm not sure what the exact contam was, but it had a sickening sweet/rotten smell. That smell is still lingering in the incubator even after cleaning so i suspect the smell has imbedded itself into the plastic container. The tops of the jars still smell like it too, but not nearly as bad as the first 5. Should he open up a couple jars and check? Is the whole set of jars junk? the contam was clear, so looking at the jars doesnt reveal anything. The substrate is a brf,verm,flx seed meal,oat meal combination that was steam pasteurized. the root of the problem was traced to a pre-loaded syringe of plantasia mystery that infected EVERY jar it was used in. what now?

It was bacterial contamination then. Bacteria don?t produce airborne spores, so the other jars that had no contamination should not have been contaminated.
