Another math question!
    #11200347 - 10/07/09 02:36 PM (8 years, 8 months ago)

Hopefully you guys enjoy this as much as I do.  It's a pretty simple question

Say you've used u-substitution and you've ended up with this for your integral:

the integral of (1/4 + u^2).  My question is simply, when finding the area function do you add put a u on 1/4 to get 1/4u + 1/3U^3 + C and then sub in or do you make it 1/4X +1/3u^3 + C and then only sub in for that one U and leave 1/4X as it is.  Hope somebody can help meh!

Integrate as you would normally and you get 1/4U + 1/3U^3 + C, then sub in U(x) for U.

The fire has many things to teach.
But so does the human experience.. which is like fire, sometimes you just need to stoke the coals and sometimes you just need to add a log or reposition the log matrix. But a well built fire will be much more self-sustaining than a poorly built one, and they all need love to grow. And don't fuck around or your might burn yourself. Must always respect the fire. - Shroomism
