Message Boards & You

How have message boards changed your life/benefited you? 

Personally, i never thought i'd be so involved with a like-minded community. I find myself visiting the sites numerous times daily. Also being a moderator on the Growery i feel i can still make contributions to the boards. There is plenty of great knowledge on these sites and are usually my first source of intelligence when pondering on a subject. The majority has a great sense of humor and i find myself referencing the sites in real life.

I believe i have met a few Shroomerites (most of whom are on the Growery) and will still pursue more friendships of fellow members for some time to come.

So here's a cheers to the community and it feels great to be among you all.  :cheers: 

and i'll smoke a bowl to that  :bongload:

this is probably the only message board that i've ever had a "personal connection" with if you will -

99% of other boards i've wasted my time at were more OTD'ish or worse,

the pub is probably the most "real" environment I've been a part at over the internet - more real then myspace or facebook, which is saying a lot - i feel as if I know a good amount of people here very well. I don't even use drugs any more and I still find myself frequenting this place.

Man, if I only knew how much this shit would effect my life.
I probably wouldn't have gone to Rothbury or really any of the shit I did this summer aside from Lollapalooza and maybe All Points West.
I've some people, done drugs I probably never would have done, discovered all sorts of music that I wouldn't have looked for. Shit, I wouldn't have been a member of Oink or What if I never joined here.

It's pretty crazy to think about really.

Yeah, forums have really been with me for awhile. I have been going on them since I was 12 or so. Wow, never realized how long its been. I feel like a messageboard is great for a person like me. I am not anti-social, but I have never been the kind of person to be constantly surrounded with friends. I feel like a messageboard is an awesome way of being able to put your ideas out there to the world with no consequence. They have gotten me into a lot of good music as well as movies. This board is awesome because so many people on here are interested in similar topics. I love this board, I'll becoming here for awhile.

i like it here because you can literally talk about ANYTHING and everyone will actually discuss it with you - i'm the same way in real life, but finding people to talk about something ranging from the pharmacology of a psilocybe mushroom to a revolution in the 1700's in everyday life is kind of difficult.

well it's a birth right in my family to masturbate to st. mary or jesus christ (depending if you're straight or not) at least twice daily and thrice on the 2nd sunday of every month so it's not that abscure to me but to the average non religious person I guess it could be.

I've had a long relationship with message boards. I started posting on a Warhammer board when I was 12 or so, trying to show off my totally sweet new orc army paint job. LOL. A few of the people on that site became good online acquaintances of mine, and I think I was hooked from then on. I've even started a few boards of my own, but they're long gone now.

Nowadays I browse three forums. This one is the most active.


There are a lot of good folks at the shroomery. Lots of tards, too, but that's how things are everywhere. I've met a handful of people from this site, and for the most part, they've been cool. I don't keep up with most of the people I've met, but it was nice meeting them. No one is how you imagine them.

This is really the only forum I have ever been apart of (beside Growery)

Ive posted on and off at other sites like Grasscity, JeepForums, BodyBuilders.com, and yes even a Dallas Cowboys fan site :lol:

Its crazy to think that there is someone behind all these posts. It may be obvious, but I don't know, it always amazes me. I always feel its weird when you recognize a poster and realize that even on a forum he has a "personality" so to speak. Look at Niteowl, the guy is such a character :smile:

I'm always amazed when a total stranger shows concern or anything like that too.

Ive probably only met a dozen or more people from here but there are a large number of people that I keep in contact with solely through the Shroomery and through reading/replying to their posts

The Sports Forum has has the same core group of 20-30 members since it was created. New people come and go but theres always been the same people there

I met one shroomerite in person who mentioned he had posted on these boards a few times but stopped years ago.  I acted like I didn't know what the shroomery was because he would have asked for my account name and I was cultivating at that point and post mad pics in cultivation.

I'd be down to go to a gathering but every time I hear about one in the north east it's too late.  Eventually though I hope to put a face to the names,  also I made that comment rocker as a joke, meeting people off the internet just evokes a scene of being raped in my mind lol.

no, i don't remember those.  I'm addicted to the growery these days.  My shroomery addiction lasted a few years until Growery was launched.  I haven't met anyone from the boards yet.  I can't wait for our first growery gathering.  THat should a great time for all involved.
