For which shroom? I don't think you'd have luck with cubes.

the nutrients in dirt are broken down and simple. MYC likes more complex nutrients (like organic compounds)

grass has been used in place of straw with some success, but dirt is for plants, mushrooms eat plant material not dirt

Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles.

There you go. Dried lawn clippings might serve as a substitute for straw, maybe. Beyond that, you're better off to use coir or poo or something.
But experiment, there's a great tek hiding in the idea.

Speaking of which, DOC, I actually did research on a grass/Dpoo tek for like three days.  And I found a way to get Dpoo have the same readings of N,P,&K as Hpoo by using banana peels.  I can get Dpoo (DOG poo) to be ok and work for plants such ass flower, ferns, etc.  But for edibles, we have the issue of ring worm larvae.  The fucker have some outer shell that makes them immune to extreme temps and humidity changes. Little fuckers.  So it is, so far, impossible to have Dpoo clean enough to use.   But we will see.

Hey find out a SURE, and I mean SURE, way of killing the round worm out of the poo and it will be golden.  But you would have to have a good microscope and a lot of samples of infected droppings to be sure.  and you need to be sure cuz no one wants those guys swimming inside em.

I dont know, after doing the research, I think it is impossible,  One way I figured out to kill them would be a way that would destroy the use of the poo anyways.

You would need saliva, or stomach acid to break over their outer shell, that alone would kill the poop.
