luminescent jack-o-lanterns
    #11193667 - 10/06/09 03:10 PM (8 years, 15 days ago)

found these in my "backyard" woods at base of oak trees. had a beautiful mild bluish-green glow on the gills, very faint but cool at the same time.

those look like gyms. "bluish-green glow" could mean they are active.

it wasn't bluish green bruising. I picked 3-4 of them, and took them to a dark closet to verify that they were jack-o-lanterns. the gills had a faint bioluminescent glow.

those are definitely omphalotus, cool that you saw the bioluminescence, does your camera have a long exposure option by chance?

ya but it only goes up to like 10 seconds. I already tried to get a good glowing pic with this camera. no go. :frown:
but I might be able to use another camera I have floating around the house that has a longer exposure but cheaper picture quality. (figures)
