powdered-rye quart-jar ratio

what is the ratio for powdered rye and water in a quart jar?

and can i extract the mycelium which grows in the jar via syringe to inoculate other jars?

Powdered... rye? You mean dry kernels? About a cup will plump up to make enough for a quart jar.

And yes.  I dont remember who; but search Grain LC.  Basically you take sterile water (bout 130% ammount of water as you want syringe; you'll lose some water) and squirt it in; swish around; suck out... done.

sorry that was a mistake I meant brown rice flour, not powdered rye.

BRF/verm? Don't do quarts. Best to do half pints, that's teh quickest and most reliable size.
If you want to do quarts, get rye or WBS.

People have used rye flour in PF jars, btw. But go ahead and use the brown rice.
