my acanthocereus


picked these off a vine growing in my front yard and made a tea out of 4 of the flowers. might have noticed something. extremely subtle. and one know what kind they are?

very nice, what species is that?  doesn't look like tetragonus, and i barely see anything else available.  nice :smile:

also, it never produces fruit.

Passiflora caerulea flowers look kind of different with the coloration.


looks different to me.

I think it's P. caerulea, or a ornamental hybrid thereof.

It's caerulea, I have one that exactly matches the vine in your front yard, leaves, flowers, and coloration.  The caeruleas that nurseries sell over here have flowers with that coloration.  Your caerulea picture with the white petals is the textbook P. caerulea, but the species has been bred to look different ways and I am sure that your plant is a form/cultivar of Passiflora caerulea.  Or at least a hybrid Passiflora with predominantly caerulea genetics.  But then again with Passifloras even purebred seed sometimes shows considerable genetic variation.

Really like the cactus flowers. :peace:
