A decent enough card for me to stay up and watch for.
We get two nice freakshow matches this year, Minowa vs Hong Man Choi, and Soukoudjou vs Bob Sapp.
I just want to see one fight where the little guy gets completely smashed.
Bibano Fernandez vs Joe Warren is a great matchup of up and coming featherweights.
Oh and if any of you guys get the chance, you'll enjoy watching Takaya vs Tokoro.
Hiroyuki Takaya is just one of those fighters whose always fun to watch even if he's not the best guy out there. And against a fighter as active as Hideo Tokoro, it's a real treat to watch.
I know, it just sounds like two random Japanese names, but they are both very special fighters and it's a special matchup.
Aoki vs Hansen is what i'm really looking forward to. Rubber match baby!

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it also. However, I don't like this whole 'tournament' style of match ups, and I don't understand why they carried that tradition from Japan. A fighter should not have to fight more than one fight in one night. It's so lopsided with a winner who got a first minute knockout fights a winner who dominated a hard-fought decision victory. One fighter will obviously be more fatigued.
And since these are heavy weights, it sounds like a nightmare.

i love the tournament format,
and the reason they keep it is because believe it or not, but MMA and almost all martial arts competitions traditionally have had tournament type formats.
But I agree with them having to fight twice in one night being a little shakey, i'd rather see the final round done on another night.

Yeah, the tournament format is cool, but not fighting twice (or more) in one event. Even UFC used to retain the original tournament format, even though it wasn't really MMA back then. I think it sounds better on paper because often the winners of previous matches got injured and would throw in the towel before their next fight.

Nah, I don't have cable or a TV, I have to watch the fights on YouTube or some other shitty streaming source until a good torrent comes out. I just got UFC 103 today.
It's pretty annoying. Pride is what got me into MMA, but most dense Americans treat UFC like they treat the NFL. I've always thought that Pride fights are way more interesting and crazy than UFC. There's something that seems to get lost in the octagon that I haven't been able to put my finger on.

I'm wondering how you can be 7 feet tall and 300+ pounds with HUGE freaking legs and get heel hooked by a guy like Minowa. The defense is so freaking easy  He must not have any flexibility or coordination in his legs/feet because they're so far away from his brain

Hell even watching Frank Mir and Roy Nelson grapple was kind of boring, and they're two of the best heavyweight grapplers in the world.
