slicing in half for easier drying?
    #11189191 - 10/05/09 08:46 PM (8 years, 20 days ago)

today i picked a shroom off my cake that had just broken it's veil and put it on a paper bag infront of a fan, it's been there all day and about an hour ago i checked on them and ended up slicing one of the bigger shrooms i'm drying right down the middle and inside the stem of the mushroom it was not exactly white, it had a dark blue green looking tint, is that just inside bruising or is it possiby rot?

I crack the stem down the middle on almost every one I pick, except for the very little guys, but the biggin's just take too damn long to dry when I don't crack em'. Usually just use my fingers, some time a razor blade to minimize bruising.
