olympic weight lifting

So I a long while back I bought Lou schuler and Alwyn Cosgroves book, "The New Rules of Lifting". This book opened a whole new world of lifting for me. It explained every question I had about diet, weight gain, form and more. I have become a damn good lifter by reading this book.

I maintain that my favorite lifts are squats and deadlifts, deadlifts especially. Anyways, I have been watching olympic weight lifting and I am absolutely amazed at the preformance, especially of the clean and jerk lift.

I have done so called clean and jerks, but I have never done them in a manner which you lunge your leg out and overhead barbell push press the weight.



I am just curious if anyone here has been doing this kind of lifting. I have 3 more weeks of my hypertrophy program, then 5 more weeks of my last strength program. After that I want to begin olympic style weightlifting.
I am looking for pointers on form and experience.

get coaching from a proper oly lifting coach.
it's nearly impossible to self-teach good form in the oly lifts, and it's better to start off as you mean to continue rather than have to "unlearn" bad technique at a later date.

that is my number one top tip, and one that no oly lifter would disagree with.:wink:
