It takes a while to feel, but pain is never distorted.

I find these days I am able to ignore and go past any most forms of pain. I can look at it from a detached perspective, and just observe it as an independant phenomena.

Back in the day the opposite would happen and it would become amplified in a sense, as I would focus on it too much.

Yes.. but this part "it would become amplified in a sense, as I would focus on it too much" .. holds true. I remember my tooth acting up, bad, then thinking.. this is going to suck! However, I completely forgot about it as I started thinking and doing other things.. I woke up the next day with a throbbing tooth.. but it was no part of my trip. That's how it worked out, the one time, for me.

Ah, yes, if you focus energy on pain then you're more aware of it.

Yea, what I'm saying is that pain can become amplified, or dulled. It all depends on your mind set really.

Which really mirrors psychedelics in general.

Guess it depends on the type of pain, tripping with a sore throat/flu was annoying more than anything,

Ive also had stomach pains whilst tripping on Cid. Intensified the pain quite a bit and couldnt shake thinking about it for quite awhile.

The worst time though was tripping with a bladder infection, feeling like you have to piss constantly and that you might actually piss yourself at any time is horrible, couldnt shake the thought the whole trip.

The day before I last had mushrooms, I fell and hurt my ankle and foot and could hardly walk or go up/down stairs. It still hurt just as bad in the morning - probably worse actually once the alcohol left my system. But at night I did my first solo trip. Just stayed in and listened to music, smoked a few reefers, and closed my eyes. After about 1 or 2 hours into it my ankle and foot felt much much better. I still had a massive graze down my shin but I could bend my foot again now and walk up and down stairs with ease. It happened so quickly. I've had similar injuries in the past but I took a lot longer to recover from those ones. They really are magic, sent from God :mushroom2:

lol.. started with 7.. as soon as it was consumed.. the pain started.. then the tooth flared up.. then I was lost for a bunch more hours and about 7 grams more throughout the night..lol. Pain killer!:crazy2:

Short answer? No.

I would say psychedelics give me a higher awareness of my physical body and thus of pain. But I am able to use this to decrease/ignore the pain.

Examples would be dancing for hours at a psytrance party. If I give myself a charlie horse or similar muscle spasm it does not hurt at all. Instead I am fully aware of it and its source and use this to my advantage to nullify it.
Same same with my irritable bowel syndrome. Even if I take an rc that cause diarreah and stomach cramps above my normal condition, when I trip I have full control over my gastrointestinal system and so I can effect the parts of me having pain in order to reduce it to nothing.

But I also feel that this is largly the power of the mind being assisted by the psychedelic mind state. I could very easily imagine even slight pain bringing someone into a terrifying state.
