 Writing a paper on legalization of psychedelics. Need help.

Hi there. As the title says, I am writing a college paper on the legalization of psychedelics. I was wondering if anyone knew of any interesting sources on the subject? Any help would be appreciated.

Choose a different topic. You are not going to do the cause any justice.
But it you are set on this topic, you should begin with Erowid's library. Jonathan Ott's book Pharmacotheon will be of help also, especially the Proemium.

Well, it's not an argumentative paper that is due. It's a research paper, viewing both sides of the subject. I honestly couldn't find much on why it should be legalized, so I really should change my subject.
It's a 5 page research paper, and I didn't want to do legalization of marijuana because everyone does that. What would be a good subject to write about for a research paper on basically anything?

You could write about all or one of the research programs that MAPS has, has been, and will be conducting.

Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies?
The thing is, it has to be a paper that will help the
reader take a position on a question or controversy and
make a case to convince the reader that it is the right one.
I don't see how I could do that with the research MAPS has been conducting.

I don't have any information, but I will offer my opinion. Argue decriminalization, not legality. There is too many idiots to let anyone and everyone be eating mushrooms and dropping lsd.Quote:

I like that idea to view it from a medical standpoint and argue how they are less harmful than prescription drugs, but that doesn't seem like a controversy of any kind.
I don't know where I would find psychedelics to be an alternative to pills either.

Be sure that the topic you choose is something you really care about.
Compare and contrast treatment methods for disorders that MAPS has conducted research in treating, such as post traumatic stress disorder or opioid dependence, convincing the reader that MDMA and psychedelics are effective and relatively safe medicines.

It sure as hell is a controversy. People are still spewing the bullshit, psychedelics have no medicinal value whatsoever. The research MAPS and other organizations have conducted argues otherwise.

I'm worried about sources. 10 or more. I'm not seeing much to read about the experiments on MAPS webpage, and I do not know of any reliable sources on the subject.

I would steer it more towards freedom of choice/the bill of rights etc.
Maybe start out with that then slowly work you way in to specifics.
or you could be blunt (haha) and just flat out give reasons why psychonauticism through various frowned upon means should be legal.
for like.. shock value, or whatever.
that would be cool
..libraries are good for sources
you could also mention how some psychedelics have proven to help people cope with traumatic experiences and practically cured addiction problems. citing sources, of course. I found a video somewhere on the internet a while back about this guy who lost his son or something then went to South America and took san pedro with some of the natives in the traditional way and felt a lot better/changed his life/stopped him from killing himself etc. I'll try to find it.
