-------------------- People say that what we're all seeking is a meaning for life. I don't think that's what we're really seeking. I think what we're seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances within our own innermost being and reality, so we can actually feel the rapture of being alive.

Give children everything and tell them they cant have one thing. for that one thing will make them grow up, that piece of knowlage will make them wise, no longer children, know right from wrong, That would seem like a super power to those who lack it. Why would anyone fear "Death" before death even existed? it's just a word, like finality, end, stop. a sound bite. God said it's bad? well, god also avoided giving his children the understanding of good and bad until after the fact...... soooooo, I'd say we were set up

the term "hypothetical" can also be used to describe a quality that does not nessisarily exist, but can still be discussed.
For example, You are the only one here actually calling for a dispute on the existance of god.
Personally, my angle on this is hypothetical, I'm neither infering, nor denying existance of anything, merely commenting logically (and sarcastically) on the meaning of a mythical fable.
God does not need to exist for me to do that. So I wonder why you would persist that god doesn't exist, I do not think anyone here tried to express that god exists, or that they believe he does, so, you're a little off topic. I'm not disputing your claim, but I just don't feel it is relivant.

They ate from the tree of knowledge, yet millennia after this mythological event, we still have much to learn.

"hypothetical"
Then state it. Otherwise I must assume one means what they say. "Without order there is chaos"

well to me it's lack of logic because you are treating a fairy tale as if it really happened and is the cause of your distress.

There is no logic to the story. God knows everything. He knew exactly what they would do in the garden when presented with that situation. Then he punishes them for doing what he always knew they would do.

I dig the OP... its a pretty basic idea really... I dont get theologians which try to explain away the original sin as if god can really be vindicated in judging us... like he is just or something.
Either its all a bullshit lie (seems more plausible) or god has in all reality predetermined everything and that the rebellion of adamn and eve (and really lucifers rebellion) is something he shouldnt really judge because he let it happen. But if he is judging its because he is a crazy guy who is punishing us for doing things preset in possibility outside of our nature. Pretty harsh eh?

Adam and Eve had no concept of right and wrong before eating of the fruit. They did not know what sin was. Eve chose to listen to the serpent instead of God and thus sin entered the world.
I see your logic. If God is perfect and benevolent, how could His creation be anything less than perfect?
It was perfect. I guess you could say Adam and Eve were extremely innocent. Like a child. They were influenced by evil. So where did this evil come from and why did God allow it?
This is a good question and I do not have a satisfactory answer. I trust in God's goodness without knowing everything. I believe evil will only exist for a season and its time is running out.
