Oh come on, let's not be too anal with regards to a 600x400 graphic on the internet.

That graphic was pointless to post anyway, it does not show the areas in which cubes grow naturally with any sort of accuracy whatsoever.  That is my only point.

the images were not meant to say cubes grew there :foreheadslap:
cubensis are classified as residing in the subtropics, thats all im saying.
im not saying they grow everywhere that is subtropic, im saying they arent found growing in the wild outside of this climate, therefore they dont grow in BC which relates to the OP's original question.

EDIT: anything in the subtropics has a subtropic climate, parts of italy and spain are subtropic.

Well, the Sahara is also in a subtropical region by definition. That doesn't mean that the climate is favorable to support the growth of subtropical mushrooms, as it is a special case, because it is a desert. That's actually mostly a man made problem. The Mediterranean could be lush and green had it not been for the ancient high cultures (Greeks, Romans, Persians and the rest of them) that chopped down even the very last tree in order to build their war and merchant fleets. That is the main reason why Southern Europe and Northern Africa is a ever spreading desert today. Fact.

no they are subtropical and require a much warmer and much wetter climate.

many dealers will throw dumb names on anything just to sell it, hydro shrooms man!

And now you are saying anything classified as "subtropical" on a map has a subtropical climate?  I don't even know what to say to that statement other than you are flat out wrongo.

You are an unbearable nitpicker, you know that? You argue with people who clearly know what they are talking about for the pure sake of arguing. Cut that crap out.
