Once-fruited substrate as spawn
    #11184257 - 10/05/09 01:38 AM (8 years, 2 months ago)

been wondering if one could harvest a first flush, then "spawn" the once-fruited substrate to a larger compost bin, thereby coaxing more flushes out of the original smaller spawn? Is there any reason why, once the first flush has come, one couldn't treat it as spawn?

Yep. It won't want to expand any more, if you do manage to get it to start expanding, it will be much slower and more prone to contamination.
