Greenish tint in cap..
    #1118372 - 12/06/02 09:16 PM (14 years, 3 months ago)

I got 4 cakes, 2 were birthed about 3 weeks ago, and there is ONE shroom. The other 2 cakes were birthed 4 days ago and havent pinned yet.
The one shroom is pretty big 7+ inches. I am gonna harvest it tommarow. Everything looks ok, except that the cap has a slight greenish tint to it. Its a light brownish yellow color otherswise... I think its a Treasure coast.. or Creeper, cant remember which cake is which,,,,
Does the greenish tint sound like a bad thing?

"Greenish Tint" is kinda vague. Could you get a picture?

I advise that you watch it closely for a bit...seems like the only thing you can do.

I harvested the shroom. It smells ok. The coloring of the cap is pretty light. Almost yellowish. I noticed what looked like bruising on the cake, but there was alot of it, and ii havent really handled it at all. Thought it might have been mold and since the cake seemed pretty dead anyway i decided to cut it open and check it out.
Everything looks ok. The blueish bruising goes about half a millameter deep. No strange smells or anything. Think the shroom is safe to eat?

I have had caps take on a definite green color when they grow in dry conditions.

Here?s a recent fruit that was pretty green.
