great pics man! What is the last mushroom of the third row, and the last mushroom on the 6th row? Incase they do not allign themselves the same for u as they do for me, it is the 14th mushroom, and the 28th mushroom.

The last one on the 3rd row is a cluster of Oysters.. And the last one on the 6th row is a small Red-Tinged Lepiota.. But Photo 14 is a beauty lil Cube and Photo 28 is some sort of Pholiota.. I think!

what kinds of bolete do you find in texas man? Is that a east texas only thing?
we have the blue bruising ones here in central texas, i always assumed they arent good to eat.

Here in East Tex we find a bunch of Bluing Bolets, Ash Tree Bolets (they blue also) The pic in this thread is what im thinkin is a Lilac-Brown Tylopilus eximius sp? But not totally sure..And yes its more of an East Texas thing. The East side of the state is more hard wood forest.. The West side of Texas is almost like a different country being more dry and flat. The South end of the state is completely different also.. It almost needs its own zone map! LOL

The large cluster of big yellow pins are Gymnopilus spectabilis. Then there is a cluster of Gyms growing out on a log and I believe them to be Gymnopilus penetrans..
The Gym spec. were beautiful ! The small pins bruised in an hour or so after the harvest to a sweet green/blue. Its always nice to get that extra proof of what you have found.. I actually overlooked Gyms for a year or so only for the fact they can be a bitch to get a positive id on. I started in on them and focused on the conditions and where I found them. The spoor was right on but well you know its still not enough.. So actually finding some that blued was a bonus!
