who's been in the airforce?

or really any branch of the service, PM me please... i'm not too much looking for reasons not to join the service so all you guys that are anti-military can spare me that lecture. i'd like to talk to someone who has some first hand experience

ah well, this is the shroomery. of course even when I was pretty clear with the whole don't come in here lecturing deal the only replies were just that. it doesn't much matter, my mind's made up already. doesn't matter if any of you agree with it or not.

Somehow I combined airforce and point and got airport so I thought you said "that really is the airport" for a split second.

Both my grandfather and dad were in the airforce... Grandpa was in the OSI during vietnam, my dad was just a truck driver at a base. :lol:

nothing seems like it's working out, and the military puts a confidence and drive in you like nothing else. I feel like i've broke myself down to the point of nothing. I want something to totally dedicate my life too and at the same time build a future for myself.

idk... i been thinking about joining the service for over a year and it's time.

I don't want to make you biased towards any direction, but personally I thought recently (in the past two or three years) about joining. I ended up breaking my leg and ankle bad and now I have metal in my ankle so I heard I would get stuck with a desk job no matter what branch I joined. :mad:

Really what made me think about it was the life lessons and experience you get. I know there is a risk during active war, but life is risky no matter what. :shrug:

I was so close to joining the army earlier this year. I had a DUI and some mj possession charges that I got a couple years back so I was put on hold for a couple months before they would let me join.

When the time came around for me to go I had completely changed my mind and now I'm just going back to college next semester instead.

I know how you feel though, at the time the military seemed like one of the only options I had left to get my shit together.

i got a couple charges too, and one sealed felony. i'm really hoping that doesn't hold me back. i don't think i'm going to back out if they allow me in. i'm ready to throw all my chips on the table for something. i'm not worried about the risks of active war at all, i'll never get out of this world alive anyway

Almost my thoughts exactly.
I actually think it would be a good experience to go through all that, if you didn't come out without a leg or brain damaged. I just figured that I wasn't as ready to leave the life I have right now behind as much as I thought I did.
I'm only 20 so I still have a couple years to try again, which I really think I eventually will.

i'm all in man... i'm sick of all this dead end ass shit i've been doing thus far in my life. i'm young too and i don't want to wait any longer to commit myself to something.. if I felt like I really had another option I would run with that but school right now isn't for me and i'm sick of wasting time.
