diabetics and mushrooms?
    #11179611 - 10/04/09 12:20 PM (8 years, 20 days ago)

does anyone know a diabetic or is a diabetic that took shrooms? I ask because my brother is a diabetic and I know he would like to try them. He has type 2 diabetes and has to take shots with his meals. Of course it would be a low dose(half an eighth). Any info?

And I still may ... (sigh) ... I still may.Be patient.

I can't give you a clear yes or no answer, but I do know that for the duration of a mushroom trip, your blood pressure will be elevated (due to a faster heart rate most likely).

I've never had any problems. If he has heart problems though it might not be the best idea

he doesn't seem to have any heart problems. He is a pretty healthy and active guy.

One of my good friends is type I diabetic and has tripped numerous times without a problem. I've asked him and he says he can tell when he has low blood sugar, even when he's trippin balls.

It would be a good idea to have a trip sitter who can read off the numbers and is educated in diabetes so if he needed to take some insulin it could help.
