should I resteam sterilize my PF jars on monday?
    #11177762 -

Today (Saturday) I steam sterilized my PF jars.  However, for various reasons, by the time the water was hot and I had all my jars (6) filled, I only had 40 minutes to do the steaming.  As soon as I took my pot off the stove, I wrapped it in a couple blankets to hold the heat in as long as possible.  What do you think the chance that the jars are sterilized?.  Whats the minimum time any of you have ever successfully steam-sterilized your jars?

I am going to busy the rest of this weekend, but on monday afternoon, I will have some free time during which I could steam my jars for another 90 minutes.  Is it worth it?

I'm not totally sure, but I'm guessing if you're not using a pressure cooker (which gets considerably hotter than regular steam boiling in a pot) that I would aim to get the recommended steam time, 90 minutes.... so I would probably say it was worth it.

You should go another 90 minutes--it would be worth your efforts.

As an experiment, I think you should redo just half the jars, if you can do it that way. (Enough jars, enough spores, etc.)

You make it all possible. Doesn't it feel good?
