Those are some very interesting species!  Unlike those found in the early or mid Summer during Bolete Season.

Ah, makes me miss the mountains up there!

Those varnished polypores are probably Ganoderma oregonense or Fomitopsis pinicola.

Not sure about the staining Bolete, but it sure is cool looking.

Edit:  On second thought, it looks like an out of season B. rubripes.
Or less likely, a nice B. calopus var. frustosus.

definitely, havent seen these yet up here. this is my first fall hunting at that elevation, it got a little sprinkle and i ran up there hoping to see fall mushrooms and this is definitely a new find for me, i found nothing close to it during spring-summer.

Huh...  They might be the same.  If that is the case, then my initial guesses are way off.  Otherwise, you may be dealing with two distinct species.

How closely was the young one from the older ones with reddish pores, or what features make you think that they might be the same?

they were like 5-6 feet away....

and just because the bases were pinkish, the stem coloring....

im not saying they were the same... at the time i didnt think they were so i wasnt going to screw w/ them, red pores and all.......but maybe they are the same and the young ones are still pale pored ??

I'm pretty certain that that is G. oregonense.

This species is the common "Reishi" in the PNW and Northern CA, and is often darker brown and less red than the other "Reishi" (varnished Ganoderma) species.

It prefers Conifers, namely Pseudotsuga spp. (Douglas Fir), Pinus spp. (Pines), Abies spp. (true Firs), and Tsuga spp. (Hemlock).

Compare with some other collections from Mushroom Observer.
