do you think that cubes would like chestnuts? i have some fresh chestnuts falling from a tree out back. they are seeds like grain.. any thoughts

I say, try and get the moisture right, PC 'em, shoot 'em up and take pics the whole time. Let us know. 
Edit: Kind of bulky for use as a spawn though...

I thought they liked grains and that's why one avoids WBS with high nut/protein content. But so I've heard "Cubes will eat anything" who knows, give it a shot.

good luck with moisture content on thos things without getting them all cracked open and such. i would think it would be a little tough with something that big/dense. Keep us posted though...

I wonder if grinding them or at least cracking them and increasing their surface area would at the very least make them more effective.

from what i remember from roasting them when i was i kid, if you dont score or slice the shell they can explode in the oven. i think they have a lot of moisture insde to begin with.
go for it!

yes they do....
i just roasted this batch and ate them but i will try peeling and PCing them with the next bunch

try a grind and boil then strain/filter the liquid to make an lc.
good way to test and if it works you will have a run started any way.
