Nice finds! Looks like you are getting some rain up in Berlin. I am still waiting for rain. Found a fairy ring of Macrolepiota rhacodes last weekend and some Agaricus campestris, but none of the good boeletes I usually find around this time of the year. This must be the driest year I can remember.

thanks GK, yea we've had rain for the last 3 or 4 days with lower temps.
that's cool I'd like to find some more Macrolepiotas, they're really nice mushrooms. Hopefully I'll be finding some king boletes soon because I found an old one, so I'm just waiting for some new pins in the same spot.

thanks guys,
hope you get some more rain down south.
Anyone have any cooking ideas for these armillarias? I cooked up some red-wine armillaria broth yesterday and poured it over some dumplings and it was bomb. I'm wondering what else I could do with em now..

do you eat the blue russulas? I have some friends who say they are excellent- they call them green-cracked russulas. Maybe they're different?

well I left em but I'm sure they -could- be eaten. They just aren't super worth it culinarily speaking.

Put the Armillaria in any gravy for a roast. You can also just sauté them in butter and garlic. Sprinkle some parsley on top after cooking. I personally think they are best in a mixed mushroom dish, because by themselves they aren't exactly culinary champions, but they go well with other mushrooms.

Another successful hunt today. It's looking like a great edibles season here in Berlin
Coprinus comatus (shaggy manes [managed to fill up a whole paper shopping bag with these])
Also what I suspect of being Chlorophyllum rhacodes (a little help GK?)
And this Boletus really made me excited until I saw the stems (the caps looked jut like Kings )
Here are some others:
a bleeding mycena
another mycena
these Hypholomas
and this artist's conk
also this odd blue/grey staining Lactarius?

Looks more like Macrolepiota procera to me. Did you cut the stipe? Do you see any change in color? C. rhacodes bruises a very bright orange red first and ends up as a dark red color after about ten minutes. We don't have any Chlorophyllum molybdites here, so you don't need to worry about confusing the two. I am also not happy about the fact that Chlorophyllum rhacodes have been put in this genus, because they do not have green spores or gills and "chloros" is Greek for "green" and "phyllos" is Greek for "leaf". This just doesn't do C. rhacodes justice, it neither has a green spore print, nor do its gills appear to be green. Anyways, you found a nice edible.

I'll make em tomorrow or so, I cooked up the last of the shaggy manes tonight in some dumplings with the girlfriend and I made a ruhe with beer for gravy. Lecker!
