no. its free. "60 day trial period" just mean you need to register for a license key, which is also free. read the fine print.

To be honest, i've been running my computer unprotected for a year less than what i've been using a computer. It's really not needed in most cases (9+ years of avid downloading)
unless your a dumbass and look for cracks and open emails from spammers, you will be wasting your computers CPU and memory, bogging down your system for nothing. Simple email and web browsing do NOT lead to catching a virus.
limewire does have viruses', but torrents generally don't. It all depends on your ability to recover your files and format your drive/reinstalll everything--something that can be unavoidable in any case.
linux is not free of virus' but less likely. Remember that the number of windows users outnumbers linux users--to virus makers advantage, and yours, as a linux users, because they are usually "script kiddies" that use pre made programs to do their dirty work. Because of Linuxs' independence from a standard, it makes it harder to write a virus that will replicate and distribute itself on a "standard" linux machine. There is no "standard" in the world of linux. Ok, so you dont want to convert. I tried, and i think i'll give it a few more years before ubuntu/user friendly/STABLE versions of linux emerge.
and i've also heard good things about AVG (mostly that it's an AV that's free.)
