Poop Soup
    #11171781 - 10/02/09 08:17 PM (14 years, 5 months ago)

Just curious... when pasteurizing poo in a water bath for bulk, the water gets very dark.  I assume there are lots of nutes that are leeched out into the water.  I was wondering if this 'soup' has any uses?  I was thinking of using it to hydrate some coir and mixing that in with the pasteurized poo before I spawn.  Any thoughts on why this may or may not be a good idea?

Thanks for any input.  :blazed:

It's a great idea and I see no reason why it wouldn't be beneficial. I would use it immediately or freeze until you're ready to use it though.

Thanks for the responses.

How important is it to sterilize/pasteurize coir?  I figure the soup will be at high enough temps to (hopefully) pasteurize the coir that I'm rehydrating with it.  Would anyone recommend additional pasteurization/sterilization?

Only one way to find out.

Try it. I'm not sure, but some of the more experienced cultivators may have better input than I do.

Best of luck.

pasturize bulk, period.

That being said, I've heard that it is very unlikely for any spores germinate (ie. contams starting) on straight coir. either way, pasteurize it.
