Various Fungi from SE Missouri (most of which I can't ID)
    #11171953 - 10/02/09 10:59 PM (8 years, 9 months ago)

I'm starting to actually look for fungi and notice them a lot more and have been finding a lot more. Thanks in advance for helping me ID this stuff, I really appreciate it. If anyone ever needs to ID a plant, reptile or amphibian I am your man.

#1 Growing on wood in a oak-hickory forest near the edge of a pond. The largest one with stem 3cm tall, cap 2.2cm diameter

#2 Growing on wood in a dried up bottomland tupelo swamp. Mushrooms were very small, cap was about 1.1 cm diameter. Spore print was orangish a lot like the color of the cap.

#3 Growing on an oak tree in a bottomland forest, covering most of the tree even up to 30 ft in the air.

#4 I'm pretty sure this is Strobilomyces floccopus

#5 I'm thinking this is Agaricus placomyces? 5 cm tall, cap 4cm in diameter, growing in moist shaded forest. I haven't gotten any spores yet.

#6 The largest fungus I have ever seen, growing in bottomland forest.

#7 Growing in Ozark Oak-hickory forest hillside on pile of leaves. For some reason I couldn't get any spores from it.

#8 Fairly large, about 12 inches across.

Thanks!

Really interesting shrooms!  I hope someone can aid you in some ID's!  You're right on the Strobilomyces floccopus, I know that much.
