Year One?
    #11170059 -

Seems like this movie was made to put a comedic light on the fact that society and religion is a horrible concept.

Amirite?

Well JB and Mike Cera leave their village, which was perfect in a sense of living and quality of life.

In the village they had food, they had jobs which everyone performed on a day to day basis without complaining or bitching. They knew what had to be done to survive, and they cherished life.

When JB and Mike start going from city to city, they witness corruption, greed, insanity and slavery, which only comes from a societal way of living and the obsession over power.

Are you serious? Did you even watch the movie? lol.

In their village everything was good, there was only one rule, not to eat the fucking fruit god dammit!

There wasn't really religion, once they left they found actual religion. People sacrificing virgins thinking rain would come, people cutting dicks because God told them too, the same dude was about to kill his son in the name of God.

The only thing that was maybe bad about where they lived in the first place was INTELLECT and KNOWLEDGE.

Which is the downfall of humanity anyways.

The tribe that they existed in did not know about socialized structural religion.

It was not allowed to eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge because the shamans knew that only few people could really harness and understand knowledge like that responsibly.

This movie was pretty crappy but I still love it.

Growing up with bible stories being shoved down your throat will help you appreciate it.

Kane was awesome.

Goes well with popcorn and a bong.

And that's why they sucked and got owned by the other civilizations. Structured society and religion are important for protecting the group as a whole.

I really loved the first half of the movie, and then the second half just kind of fell apart.

I thought that it was going for a message such as "Look, average person, you look at ancient culture and think they're so odd, but truth is today we're probably fucking weirder!"

and it kind of did, but not as much as I thought it was going to be.

I don't really know what I'm trying to say
