Mystery Mushroom Identification

Hello! I currently came into the possession of 4 grams of these mushrooms:

I'm afraid I have no more information about them other than the photo. They were obtained through what seems like a reputable source but I can't help but worry, I've just never seen any mushrooms like this before. If someone can ID these or has any past experience with them they would like to share I would be much obliged.

they look fake in my opinion
you would need better photos than that

Where (geographically) did you obtain them and what have you been told they were?

They were obtained in Chicago by a friend and to the best of my knowledge he was told nothing of their origin, probably should have asked but it was a bit of an impulse buy. The guy who gave them to my friend did say something to the effect of "don't take these just to get high, it's a spiritual experience". That probably doesn't count for much but he seems to have been a genuine mushroom fan. Hope this helps.

Gill color and cap color are off for ps. cubensis and there are no signs of bruising. I'm afraid that a spiritual experience involving these will be out of the question.

definitely doesnt look like something ide want to eat though, having no idea what it is and all.

I would take it back and demand a refund.

They almost look like dried P. cubensis, but the colours are rather off... I would not eat them either.
