alcohol withdrawals?

i have been drinking pretty much every day for about a year now. Not getting wasted drunk, but having at least three beers a day. At one point last year I was drinking a bottle of wine everyday and still do get blackout drunk kind of regularly. the past three days though I haven't drank or even smoked weed, or done anything at all and I have been having trouble sleeping and getting cold sweats at night. My friend says this is part of the alcohol withdrawal but I'm not sure. Wouldn't I be shaking and really irritable among other things? the only other annoyance has been a sharp headache on the left front side of my head that is very persistent.

I get the same thing with opiate withdrawls only after a couple days it gets much worse. See once you get the wd's you learn its not all that straight forward on effects. You are probably just having mild effects which you should be grateful for. In a few days it might get worse. If not lucky you.
