Monotub Question regarding casing
    #11166110 - 10/01/09 10:42 PM (8 years, 2 months ago)

So I have this monotub that's approaching full colonization. Can I get by without adding a casing layer? It seems pretty humid in there and I really don't want to open the lid until harvest... but I'm afraid if I don't case and mist it'll be hard to keep RH up.

Has anybody made it all the way through from spawn to harvest without opening the lid?

You can skip out on the casing layer if you want to as long as the RH stays up. You don't have to case a monotub some people do some dont

I've heard of it being done many times.  search up on it.  here's one example I found right away - http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/5598048#5598048

you do not NEED a casing.. if your RH is goos it is unnecessary . The casing just provides a micro environment, if your environment is fine, then dont worry. however RH is hard to judge.. the difference between 75% and 99% is big..

if you think your RH is good, let it go..

:pm: me if you have questions about lasers

Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles.
