that thing sucks. eats up too much memory resources, weird skin shapes, and if you have a play list, it fades inbetween songs. What about mixed CD's? it sounds like shit.

so the problem is the program? Newer versions having more demanding hardware requirements makes it a bad program? Doom 3 sucks then, right?
it runs fine on my pooter. tbird1200 380+ megs of DDR 64 meg radeon.

>Newer versions having more demanding hardware requirements makes it a bad program? It's suppose to be an MP3 player, not a MP3 player/video player/plugin visualation player/etc... Too much crap has been added on to make it a feature-encrusted memory hogging program. After I installed Winamp3 and used for about 2 hours, and I uninstalled it and reinstalled the 2.81 again.

exactly - this latest update is completely absurd....it takes way more than twice as long to fire up the program. They still have the old version available for download; tells you they're aware that this new version certainly isn't popular with "several" people

I meant it was the best AVS has ever been, they have come a long way. For a bunch of stoners you guys are pretty negative. Yeah I had milk drop on an older version, I like avs because of the variety.

*cough* Im no stoner. I just know quality when i see it. apparently you havent seen the newer milkdrop presets. I didnt want to come across as negative.. i just like to give credit where credit is due. So stop using AVS crap and put your video card to some use and use milkdrop at 1600x1200x32 with anti-aliasing 4x. Then you'll know quality.

I have to say milkdrop completely blew me away with its awesomeness. It has yet to be topped in my avs list.
it runs smooth, has a lot of pretty vibrant colors, and is usually quiet random with a few vague patterns to it.

u can change it so it wont fade between songs. winamp 3 takes a while to get used to, but once you know it, its actually pretty good.

Milkdrop isn't compatible with winamp3, you need to get an earlier version
Good luck

Actually you can! Check this out, Click Here To Get Winamp2 Visualizations in Winamp3!
I'm glad i found this thread, I didnt think u could have winamp2 visualizations in WA3. I've tried this file out (by the guy who made geiss) and it works really well. If you have old plugins you should move them all to the winamp3 plugins folder. It says it detects plugins from WA2 but it didnt for me, i had to move them. Other than that it works great. I've got my Triplex back! YES!
The only thing i dont like about winamp3 versus 2 is how long it takes to open the program. I keep big play lists. Search is great
