Saving grain from mold
    #1116253 - 12/06/02 01:51 AM (21 years, 6 months ago)

This black shit's contaminated one of my grain bags. It is now 100% colonized with some black spots that the mycel is kind of covering. Its a battle between black and white. Looks like some kind of racial riot. Anyway, I was wondering if there was a way to save it at this point. I was thinking that maybe spawning it to dung would kill it off the mold, because it might possible not grow on the dung giving the mycel an advantage over the mold eventually killing it. What do you guys think?

I am attempting to fruit it now by the way. Hopefully I will be able to get some more spores from this strain.

I usually do that with slightly contaminated grain: Remove the contaminated areas with a sterilized spoon and use the healthy mycelium as spaw for dung.
