an adaptation in the MMGG suggests pre-sterilizing both the verm and rice flour beforehand. Spread them out on seperate trays and bake at 300F for 20 minutes. Be careful that you dont overdo it. If you leave the rice flour in too long it will turn a darker brown and start to cook, losing nutrients.

Keep in mind that you still have to sterilize again after you put your substrate in the jars.

That, or place your verm and brown rice flour outside in the sun for 3 hours. and then without moving them do all your work outside. You don't even have to pressure cook if you do it this way. See the sun sends out reliegh scatters that make it impossible for contams to enter. Have fun, and good luck.
