Anyone With Me On This?

I don't really follow any religion. If you ask me, religion is just another form of politics. I'm not saying I don't believe in a higher power though. I feel there is simply things that we do not understand. Throughout history it seems that humans have created gods/religions to explain things they do not understand. Most religions are based on people who took hallucinogenic plants/mushrooms/cactii a long time ago. Though in the Christian Religion it is forbidden to consume such things. I believe the bible is true in what it says about a lot of things. I think the bible is a "book of wizdom" more than anything. Only about 10% of the actual scrolls/scripts have been translated and what has been translated is not 100% accurate. So how could people follow the bible that we know today when it isn't even the complete and accurately translated version? How do we know that people didn't add stuff and take stuff away throughout time. I belive that perception is reality. The way one sees things reality to them. I do believe that its good to have faith in something. But you need to find faith in yourself first. Just like if you want to love something you have to love yourself first. I think that when you study the bible and go to church every sunday you are actually doing just that. I don't think that you are finding love and faith in Jesus. I think you are devoloping that love and faith within yourself. I could go on forever about this but I want to give you all a chance to respond before I go any further. I just want to get everyones opinion.

I'm not into any religion either. I'm more into finding myself. I'm not on a hunt to find "god". I like to sit back, relax, pop a few grams of shrooms, and do some soul searching. You will learn a lot about yourself and the world around you doing that. Why waste your hallucinogenic experience playing with glow sticks?

I agree
I think religions were created because the thought of NOT knowing where everything came from, and where everything is going left people feeling very vulnerable. To what? Their own minds maybe. Anything can happen in chaos. It's too much to handle. Weak minded people needed a system to fall into. If that system fills the leaders' bellies, even better, it's god's wishes. Right? Well there is some sense of order now, so let's really spiff this religion up, make some nice costumes and shit, ya know? put on a good show. Lets have this story about this guy getting nailed on a cross, that would be killer! Get everyone addicted. Raise them to think our way. We're doing them a favor... right?
Anyways thats my take on it...
it scares the shit out of me how fucked in the head religious fanatics are...
If you've been mentally molested to believe what your doing is going to bring you an eternity in heaven... what's to stop you? I think that is the ultimate power trip... more than all the wealth in the world. Even worse (in their mind) if you stop thinking this way you WILL go to hell. These people need help.

Why waste your hallucinogenic experience playing with glow sticks?
Waste? You ever try to relax by letting your mind flow with the way you can dance with glow sticks? I guess not. Nothing in my mind is ever wasted.
But i do like the way you think about religion. Read my thread on freethinking?

There is a lot of evidence that points to subparticles acting a conscious entities, and furthermore, ever particle is aware of every other particle in the universe. Universal consciousness seems on par with my interpretation of god.

Supposedly in like 390 AD, (dont quote me on this) The church got together and edited out large portions of the bible, I dont remember the details, but I'll search google and post a link or something.
But yeah I dont follow any religion either, i have many buddhist beliefs though, good post.

Ive believed so many different things it isn't funny, but i think what your saying makes a little bit of sense. though i believe more that hallucinogens and other narcotix are "links" to a higher realm of understanding, kind of like nirvana i guess.. i think that if we used 5-10% more of our brains we could do that on command w/o help from our little friends. (real nirvana)
