Yes they will know, no they aren't brand names. If they ask what grade of verm, tell them you want either medium or coarse. If all you can get is fine, its alright, but medium and coarse are better, at least that's the opinion around here.

Grain is gold when you have the money to spend on a PC.  There goes my self-esteem.....

Dude, save up 50 bucks and go to ebay.  BRF is alright, especially if you spawn it into poo or straw or a poo/straw combo.  But if you can get a PC, grain is the way to go.

Really? $50? The lowest priced one I've seen must have been over $100. Then again, that wasn't on ebay.

I got a model 921 All American PC (which by the way, not to offend anybody who owns a different kind, I think is the best that you can buy when it comes to Pressure cookers) for 39 bucks, 55 when shipping was added. You can find great deals just do a search on ebay.

I found a 17qt pressure canner on eBay for $48.50 after $10 shipping; it's not new, but it doesn't need to be new. You can't beat the price. Supposedly it holds 24 half-pints. Just look around . . . a little effort in research will go a long way.
