Fruiting without a casing?
    #1114371 - 12/05/02 03:11 PM (21 years, 3 months ago)

I understand how and when to fruit when using a casing. What I dont understand is if I am not wanting to put a casing layer on my dung straw substrate how do I determine when it is the apropriate time to put it in the fruiting chamber and initiate pinning?

When you see strong growth on the top surface that is relatively uniform over the entire casing, that is the time to initiate fruiting!

Perfect guys....the dung straw substrate is fully colonized on the top. I put it in the fruiting chamber last night began air exchange introduced light and droped my temp to 75. I was mainly worried about not letting it colonize enough but then I didnt want to over colonize and get overlay. Thank you gentlemen
