i think i f'd up wbs...also coffee ?'s

so i followed the tek (or at least thought i did correctly) i did 2 batches of wbs, penningtons, i believe is what i got.  the first batch smells sour but looks like its growing. the second batch on the other hand, smells the same, no myc growth, and has fly's in the jars.  does anyone know where i could have gone wrong?

also, has anyone tried a coffee/verm only mix?  i know the verm is to hold moisture, but i dont know if the coffee is there for the same reason or if its for nutrients.  anyway, i have a few jars of coffee/verm mix about a week old now that i noc'd up with liquid culture and there is no growth at all.  if coffee is only there to hold moisture then i know why its not growing lol.  i have a lot of lc so i figured i'd experiment a little bit.

i have them in a cooler and when i open up the cooler all i get is a sour smell

you can use the coffie most use with coir but if i use verm wich is not often i just use it these were done wiith just vermjust 1 small glade tupawere
