Does anyone have any idea which strains Dr.Polock was working on before he was killed? Do any genetic samples still exist??

Dr.Pollock was a mycology researcher in Texas. He 'discovered' several strains- including (I think) Tampanesis, Mathias Romero and 1 or 2 others. He wrote the book. Literally. Magic Mushroom Cultivation. It included work with brown rice cakes- I don't know if that lead to the PF Tek or not. There was an excellent copy of the article from the San Antonio paper. Wild story. Locals say he was prolly done in by a local motorcyle 'club'. It was on the MJshroomer.yage.net site

Thanx Anno- that site doesn't usually open for me for some reason. So anyone know the strains? Anyone have anymore info on Dr. Pollock's work? The internet isn't much help, probably since he died in '79.

I just said he was a POS vendor from the postings I've read here. He wasallegedly selling 'spores' that were sterile, misidentified and extremely small(.25X .25inch) and contaminated! .If those things are true- yes- that makes him a POS.

you do have a point - your info is 100% correct, based on my experience, so let's tag him a POS, he deserves it

Peele is completely unreliable as a vendor. But he is an old hand in the ethno-mycology field. He sucks by todays standards, but may shed light on the drama of yesteryear.
Don't trust him as far as you can throw him when it comes to him providing spores of the strains/species, but I'd trust most everything else that comes out of his mouth as at least worth consideration if not outright respect.

Did you read the article on mj's site? Is this what you're looking for:
In reply to:
Dr. Stephen Pollock was buried with a choice sample of camote on his breast and a Matias Romero and a Renaissance, two species of mushroom he had studied extensively, in either hand.
We know what camote and MR are, what's the Renaissance? A new species as the article states, or a cube or tamp strain as it implies by saying "two species".
I bet I know what the next big thing from a vendor will be. The Renaissance strain. I hope this thread won't simply be the fuel for more vendor hype.

He was under investigation by many, many government organizations due to drug use, research, and distribution, and his gf calls the police when he doesn't show up for dinner? Sounds odd to me.
