fibromyalgia & chronic fatigue syndrome
    #11134978 -

has anyone heard anything related to fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome related to hearbs plants drugs etc. that could be helpful or anything?
i've had both for over 8 years and have been looking into these categories for possible remedies or substitutes for all of my harsh medications (not to mention expensive)

more than anything i just want to get to a point where I can live a full on normal 'healthy person' life
i can do a lot but am sick of it holding me back

i also have depression but i'm honestly not sure if it is because of the situation-me being sick-or my mental constitution on it's own (i do have a nice solid family history of depression so I wouldn't rule it out)
i at least want to find relief for any or (preferably) all of my main symptoms:
-pain
-fatigue
-depression
-low blood pressure/dizziness
-insomnia/sleeping problems
-weak immune system

or replace any of the following medications:
-dexadrine
-lexapro
-wellbutrin
-cymbalta
-atenolol
-fludicortisone
-flexeril
-tylenol w/ codeine #4

thank you  and sorry for the lengthiness

If you find anything out let me know, I also have fibromyalgia.

I've read that cymbalta helps with fibro, but I'm already on welbutrin and don't want to add any other antidepressants. Has the cymbalta made a noticable difference? Have you tried lyrica? Didn't do much for me.

Do you get the intense muscle spasms in your upper back like between your shoulder blades?

"A human being is part of the whole, called by us 'Universe'; a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest -- a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness.

This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and affection for a few persons nearest us.

Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty.

Nobody is able to achieve this completely but striving for such achievement is, in itself, a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security."

awesome i'm really glad to meet someone else like me who has fibromyalgia! not that i'm glad you have it or anything lol

i tried lyrica a little while back-it was over a year or 2 ago. it didn't do much for me either and I really can't be sure at all if it was because of it but i was getting headaches while i was taking it also so i stopped. I still have like 2 bottles of pills.

i don't like the whole idea of taking tons of antidepressents at once but the addition of cymbalta to wellbutrin and lexapro did help my depression and possibly other things too. the only thing about cymbalta which i  NEVER knew about before was there's really bad withdraw from it. i was going to try ayahuasca with my bf-which by the way i've heard can actually help people with fibromyalgia-and you need to be off certain meds including cymbalta because it could be dangerous if it's in your system so I stopped taking it for a week and I got horrible withdraw symptoms including pretty nasty depression.

definitely pm me or keep in touch with me if you want-it always helps so much to have someone else in the same boat as you to consult for anything and combine knowledge with

i get most of my pain in my neck and shoulders and a lot around and between my shoulder blades-there's this cream called topricin that you put on places with pain-it actually helps a lot-I would definitely recommend it!

Oh also I recently got some cat's claw-it's supposed to help boost your immune system and has been specifically recommended for people with fibromyalgia-i made a tea with it once so I can't really say for sure if it helps or not but that day I did get a boost of energy-i think it's also supposed to help with the pain.

Sorry i wrote a lot there! Feel free to talk to me about anything or ask any questions at all!!
Hope you're feeling alright

Yeah it definitely is good to know someone else who has the same condition. I only know 2 other people that have it.

Thanks for the advice on the topricin, I'm definitely going to check that out.

I think I'm just going to avoid the cymbalta. Welbutrin alone has cause some shitty sexual side effects and it's supposed to be the one that effects sexual function the least. Plus antidepressant withdrawal is horrible.

I'll have to look into the cat's claw but that's iffy. I also have rheumatoid arthritis so I'm on immunosurpressants. Not sure boosting my immune system would be the best idea.

I'll definitely keep in touch.

Try TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine).
