Question about lighting
    #11108217 - 09/22/09 06:38 PM (14 years, 6 months ago)

If I were to use a 6500 k 26 w bulb how far should I elevate them above the mushrooms. The mushrooms will be in mycobags. Also, would 6 hours a day be adequate?

Aim for 12 on 12 off I would keep them around a few inches away from the top of the bag just feel and make sure its not to close heat wise

Feelfunny, are you suggesting that less light encourages the mushrooms to stretch upward toward the light more? What timing did you give them?

I would say that since mushies are suppose to be closer to humans than to plants it really would not matter to much, they will adapt.......

What if I was to have several (possibly up to 10) bags? How many lights would I need?

also what I use.  I have moved them from a few inches up to a few feet, with no noticeable difference.  I tried 16/8 and 12/12, also with little or no difference.
