They're finally pinning!!
    #397531 - 09/18/01 01:20 PM (22 years, 6 months ago)

A FOAFOAFOAFOAFOAFOAF cased some rye substrate PC Equadors w/ peat/lime/verm casing--waited five days, the mycelium was showing through in several different places--dropped temperature to 75 degrees and misted with water, and gave some light 2-3 times a day--waited another 6 days...NO PINHEAD FORMATION!!
This FOAFOAFOAFOAFOAFOAF got frustrated, did deep scratching tecnique, and returned container to 85 degree darkness to recolonize.
1) Was this person too impatient?
--how long should pinhead formation take?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

The only thing I can think of is to cold shock them. Drop your temp. to around 45-50f for 30-48 hr. Sometimes their really stubbren. I do this all the time...works like a charm. It lets them know that they made it outside. After you do this bring the temp. back to normall...75-78f. The usuall amount of light, ect.
You came this far....they just need a push ;)

I would try the cold shocking thing. Afoaf the same trouble with eq's there very difficult to get to pin. At least for him.
He found them not be as easy as everyone says they are to fruit/pin.

Patience is the key - just keep fanning - give them light and cold shockes to kickstart them - but sometimes it takes a little longer than usual

Yes, patience definately is a virtue in growing shrooms.  I can be very patient at times, but when it comes to growing shrooms I tend to be less so.

kinda too impatient... keep the temperatures the same... try not to "up-and-down" it too much....

spray as needed to mantain humidity, and fant 3-5 times a day...

and leave alone....
