How do I stop firefox add ons update?

Every time I start this browser it takes two minutes to tell me it found new add ons...yeah, the ones I already have and use.  How do I shut this off?

when did this start happening? what changed? u install a new update and then this started?

It seems to have started after firefox automatically installed it's new version.

I'm sick of it doing this.  Right when I get everything good it will download and install it's newest version.  When that happens I have to start new like finding my old skin/theme and my favorite one isn't even compatible with the new version.  Then I get it the way I like it and it keeps telling me to install all the add ons I already have operating.

well try the above it should work i still use 2.7

u might have to delete the following folders and download the new version. u will lose all ur saved settings/add ons and have to redo them.

ull have to make sure ur files are not hidden
C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla
