Winamp is awesome. I think I use iTunes more frequently through just because I can synch my iPod with it.
The only time I like visualizers is when I'm sober, ironically. I feel pathetic and bored wasting a trip in front of the computer. However, Milkdrop is the most beautiful visualizer I've seen. Myk

just google "best mac audio player" or something like that. one of those hits will likely be a list of various programs with benefits listed.
i personally just use VLC. i've already got it for movies, and i figured there's no reason to install a separate program on my tiny linux netbook. works well enough for me.

Winamp. Even with an Ipod winamp is better cuz itunes auto syncs which can really fuck things up!

I never used to, but I've been rocking iTunes lately. It sets up it nicely and I don't see any real flaws with it.
How is Winamp or another program better than iTunes? What advantages do they have?

The only + I see in iTunes is flawless synching to my iPods. That's IT.

foobar2000 once its been organized and cataloged. VLC is just one of the best striped down players, its used to check new stuff out before I add it to the library.

Get iDump.
It doesn't play music but you can take songs off any iPod by the push of a button.
I use VLC as well.
