Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles.

I think it should be very much undercooked. Some other thread on pasta overcooked and had no success, but he did cook normally and had success, which I was surprised at. I have better luck with drier substrates, and the pasta will not turn to mush.

I cooked up some organic wholegrain pasta just now, did 200g dry and cooked until it was 350g, so it is quite hard, far harder than you would eat it.

I think the processing of it might make it suitable for steaming. But also it being processed might make it easily digestable for myc, I also expect dunking will soak up a nice bit of moisture.

My jars are cooling now, they pasta was shakeable and looked a lot more wet than when it went in, but it weighs the same. I expect it will dry a lot upon cooling.

If there was ever to be an easy foolproof microwave tek I think pasta is the key. It will not explode and you can oversoak it and then boil off the excess until it is the weight/moisture level that you want.
