Opinions on complete failure to colonize
    #1111205 - 12/04/02 07:21 PM (21 years, 4 months ago)

I innoculated a few jars with pink buffalo a couple weeks ago, and one simply hasn't shown any signs of colonization at all. The sites where they were innoculated only became dark and moist in appearance, and no mycelium appear present at all. Anyone else experience this? Just kind of curious why this may be.

Did you remeber to shake the syringe before each innoculation?

The others came along ok, and I shake between innoculations, so I'm really at a loss - you'd think that you'd see something, but they're just damp spots....kinda weird.

Elaborate a bit more on your methods. Sterilization, Substrate, Spore Vender, Sexual Preference, etc.

How about smells? Any funk coming out of the jars?

Ok, wow, even though it's been probably three wekks or more since innoculation, and there was still nothing there yesterday, the jar is now starting to colonize - it must have been waiting for me to post in regards to it. It's a basic verm/brf 1/2 pinter.....i think i may not have tamped down sufficiently, and maybe that's slowed up colonization so. They're from Hawkseye, and his syringes seem to have more than adequate spores floating around in 'em. Just weird, though, as the sites just sat there as damp looking spots....i only didn't toss it by now just out of curiosity, but lloks like it might make it after all.
