Dark Rye Flour kicks ASS!!!!!!

Just wanted to try something new so I bought some "dark" rye flour...... Wow! I knocked up 9 jars,,,,,,  6 with the standard Brown rice flour  and 3 with Dark rye flour.....  same syringe...  the dark rye flour jars are showing signs of germination at all 4 holes in all 3 jars on day 3.. the other 6 jars.. same syringe mind you....... with the BRF I am still waiting to see mycelia... Just wanted to share with the group about this.. I`ll post again on progress with this definetly liking what i`m seeing so far :cool:

Where did you purchase this "dark rye flour" and whads it cost compared to BRF?

Heheh, "72-hour mycelia" sure sounds good to me! Where did you score the dark rye flour, and what brand is it sold under? Did you mix vermiculite with it as you would with BRF?

purchased at local grocery store in cake mix section....  I have a local flour mill also... plus I`m sure most health food stores would have it :cool:

Alright "Niner" im going to give your rye flour tek a shot but check this "I went to this big market and they had 2 kinds of rye flour one was Medium Rye and the other was Hodgson Mill all Natural Stone Ground Rye Flour" it has a recipe on the bag for making dark rye bread so I figgurd this is the chit", I mean its 100% organic and made from a rye grain so it should be at least as good as BRF correct? Anybody?..lol
Im gonna do like 24 pint jars with NSP filter disks this weekend.

This 5lb bag I bought cost $2.99 (on sale i think) but it just says "RYE FLOUR" is this cool? somebody tell me this chit is cool already please....lol

I used the same water ratio as it states on the MMGG site 2/3 verm 1/4 cup flour 1/4 cup water for each half pint jar.... never got goo and seems fine Btw I`m 100% colonized at day 10 at 80F degreees.. not sure why you ended up to wet maybe do a jar at a time.....
