Choose some cactus species for me
    #11111068 -

Hi
I'm going to order some seeds to grow this season, I'll attach a list of all the seeds the seller has available in a Microsoft word document.
List some of your favorite cacti which you think I should grow, I'll give them a research and decide on a few final types.

Sorry about the ridiculous amount of threads, there was a problem uploading the file and it kept retrying
I'll have to upload the file when its working better, also, anyone thinking of getting 'dodo' for their internet, DON'T!
On another note, I shouldhave mentioned this int he original post, ive got the 'classic' cacti, pedros, torches, lophs etc. I was thinking about some of the more exotic types, aztekium is definitely being added to the list

The file isn't really important anyway, I guarantee it will have every seed of every variation of cactus imaginable
He has over 7000 different types

I knew it was something explainable, I know I've done a similar thing in the past when it comes to double posting. Dodo, telstra they all suck. The best I ever had in oz was optus....

Anyways, I know you have a nice collection because I always admire the pic on the far right in your signature, you got some nice plants. :yesnod:

Aztekiums would be a good way to go. What about Astrophytum asteria and cultivars as well. You can never have enough lophs IMO~ :stoned:

 Yeah Dodo's internet is hardly 'internet that flies' I think that motto is sticking it to their customers, the dodo was a flightless bird, just like their internet
Yeah I've got a tray of aterias v. zebra growing at the moment, as well as two ariocarpus fisuratus seedlings, one is looking like its about to die though  some echinocereus rigidissimus v. rubispinus and a copiapoa cineria. Those were all from the last order of seeds, plus 20 lophs

I've run out of ideas really, the ones I mentioned are the ones I'm looking at buying at the moment. Another would be Browningia and asterias cv. superkabuto which I think are great as well as Ariocarpus.

Trichocereus bridgesii-yes I know the genus name has been changed but the name Trichocereus will always stick with me, it sound sexier than Echinopsis.

Yeah I know it has sentimental value but when it comes to nomenclature I like to use the current genus. I have no problem with people using the old genus either.

Cintia knizei has an interesting look.  How about Geohintonia mexicana?  Eriosyce napina?  Melocactus are cool large globular cacti especially after they develop a cephalium.

I want to get some Mammillaria luethyi seeds going myself.  Just sowed some Astrophytum asterias 'Super Kabuto', Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus, Blossfeldia liliputana, and Pelecyphora strobiliformis this past week (as well as 2 Adenium obesum and some carnivorous sundews).  Next week I'll probably start some Parodia ottonis x erubescens seeds a shroomerite sent :sunny:

Excellent question. The species often seems to find the grower, not vice versa.

I decided on the final types. I'll probably end up buying more soon, heaps of great species have been listed.
I had to make a few substitutions because some were out of stock at the moment, I ended up getting:
uebelmannia pectinifera
blossfeldia lilliputana
epithelantha bokei
frailea castanea
discocactus horstii v. wourtersianus
turbinicarpus pseudopectinatus v. rubriflorus
ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus f. el pilar
strombocactus disciformis
I never realized the strombocactus seeds were so tiny!
