First grow P. Cubensis B+ with Pics

Hi guys. This is my first unaided (except for the sharp group here) grow after a ton of reading and research. I am using the PF TEK on a syringe of P. Cubensis B+ strand. This post will serve as my grow log, or at least with any luck, what will be a grow log. I'll update with pics to this first post. Any feedback or alterations are welcome. I plan to harvest then flush/dunk and repeat. I used most of my spores on the first 5 jars. I plan to attempt to make a print out of some of the yield so I can continue. I'll ask questions about that if I make it that far.
Strand: P. Cubensis B+ Jar pepr: Citric's method of self healing lids
Starting Citric's tek

Lids with tyvek filter

Drying on the jars

Making the mix of BRF and verm

Filled jars

Now awaiting the growth of mycelium then into the FC.

Just to let you know your jars are reg mouth not wide mouth. So your prob going to have to break the jars or crumble the cakes to geth them out of the jars...

Shoot me a pm if you would like a powerful custom laser built. 4th pic is a 1.3W 445nm laser burning thru some plastic makeup containers. Yes I was wearing proper safety goggles, otherwise I would be blind right now.

I've never had to with that same exact jar (same packaging). The myc eats/shrinks the substrate enough that they slide out most times, sometimes you have to hit it like a ketchup bottle, but that's about it.

And for PF tek you dont want to inject in the middle. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/8429590#8429590 watch the videos and see how he prepares the lids. those lids you made are really for grains.

I did not inject via the middle port. That is covered with tyvek. The red silicone hole on the side is where I made my 4 injections. Doing it again I would make 2 of these holes as it would help with maneuvering the syringe. Having only 1 hole make it a little difficult to reach the far side.

I thought it was mostly because of colonization times. My wide mouth half pints colonize like twice as fast, they usually germinate right at the bottom edge and colonize from the bottom up, which is usually what gets colonized last with the regular mouth.

Even if you don't get shrooms, as long as you don't get contams and get a fully colonized cake, you should be able to make an LC, either from taking a myc syringe and then knocking up an LC, or just dropping a chunk of freshly birthed cake into
So you did get spore solution running down four different sides? If so then nothing to worry about, all should go well. The only thing I can think of is since that tek for that lid was for grains, with the Tyvek on the inside, it's constantly going to be touching the moist substrate, which can possibly breed contams. Hopefully not though, good luck.

Yea I wondered about that but I am hoping that the dry verm top layer will keep the filter dry and not be a breeding ground for contams.

Update: A little over a week and no activity. Are the jars stalled? Do they need more fresh air? Temp is currently at 75°F.
Ideas or do I need patience?

One week later they went crazy:

Moving to a fruiting chamber right now. Next I need to look into making prints so I can be self sufficient. Though if any members have a spare laying around I would gladly except. I know I am new but I am not sure of the yield yet.

I was out of town for a few days and the jars ramped up from 80% to 100%+ within that time. It will be more controlled next time as along as I can get at least one good print from this batch.

Just a quick update on progress. The little pins maturing into grownup caps. Temp is at 68.9 and humidity right at 96%-98%.

One day later — A few little guys hanging out:

So now when is the right time to pick 1 off to make a print? Veils are still intact.
