Too Many Supplements?

So guys Ive started taking a bunch of supplements and I cant help but wonder if they might cause negative reactions with each other once combined. I take the following for the following reasons
Yerba Mate (strong tea used to wake me up.....suspected mild MAOI properties) Hops (supposedly helps anxiety) Valerian Root (help induce sleep) Chamomile (help anxiety) L Theanine (suspected to induce "relaxing" effect in Tea) Ginseng Complex (contains 4 varieties of ginseng to give energy and help anxiety) Multivitamin Passion Flower extract (for anxiety....suspected to contain mild MAOI properties)
Obviously this is allot, and im worried about how they may affect one eachother. Especially because ive read Yerba Mate and Passion Flower are supposed to be mild MAOI's. Will all these produce bad results if mixed with a glass of wine? Or some Kratom?
Thoughts???? Experiences????/
On a side topic, anyone know why the supplement market is so loosely controlled here in America?

Well, at least they're just plants, not really supplements. Except the multivitamin.
Doesn't seem like any combination could be too bad for you.
I'm not sure though, I'll let someone else handle that
The only experience I have is that I drink Yerba Mate and Chamomile every day. No side effects, lol.

Im starting to wish I never found Yerba Mate......Im seriously addicted to this stuff. I can not function the same way without it. If I dont get my gourd of Mate after a few days I start getting pissed and irritable. I get headaches, I cant stop thinking about Yerba Mate, and am tired ALL THE TIME!
When I drink it though im the exact opposite. Im FULL of energy, and practically high off the experience. Ive reached LSD states of bliss while running with my IPOD and an excessive amount of mate.
At first I thought it was a God sent. It was a form of Caffeine that people with anxiety could drink constantly without any ill effects. However im noticing that Coffee will cause your muscles to tense up and make your mind race....while Yerba Mate causes your muscles to relax and your mind to race. Thus I could still be completely anxious, however my body is responding as if im completely relaxed and content.
Beware, dont get hooked on this crap. You all may think this is a joke, but I had more fun quitting smoking than I did this stuff

Thanks for the warning, but it's been about 5 years.
It's different than caffeine IME. So much more "mellow", yet more energizing.
I know this chick, she is a huge Mate junkie. She doesn't do any drugs or drink. I'd run into her at shows, and she'd be like "I'm so stoked!! I'm so yerbed up right now!!".
It's like she got super high off the shit.
So yeah, it's a pretty powerful stimulant I guess. I love it, personally!

Take out Herbe Mate (trust me.) that shit is not meant to be taken everyday IME. As for the rest of the stuff, maybe alternate weekly on and off if you want to. IMO though a lot of that stuff can be substituted for better supplements/nootropics that are more beneficial.

but those are all vitamins, not herbal supplements
i took valerian root once and got the worst kidney pain of my entire life. fuckign horrible
i took too much ginger root for too long and fucked up my esophagus for a while...it basically felt like i was having a heart attack all day long for over a week...i couldnt even take a sip of water without feeling the most excrutiating pain. It was absolutely horrible. i still take ginger root daily usually, but not nearly as much, and never without a meal
yerba mate is definitely the first one to get rid of/cut down on though for sure
i think the chamomile is perfectly fine though. Chamomile is

compared to coffee it's dangerous, and has worse side effects.

Taste is acquired! Once you get past that.. damn. Its got a kick. Kind of reminds me of a nicotine buzz. Iv almost tripped on this stuff. A gourd full and 2 liters later, tunnel vision, and i had to sit down. Went to sleep that night and couldnt feel my limbs, heart felt relaxed almost and felt floaty. It packs a punch but its addictive i think.

personal experience, as well as the experience of others who have done it with me. Also there are enough reports of negative experiences with it on the net. Some people are much more sensitive to it than others
what the hell are you laughing at anyways, I said compared to coffee
ever heard the expression better safe than sorry? it saves lives to know the risks of any substance. That doesnt mean I am fear mongering either

I do some what agree with you. I was laughing because I thought you meant in a different way kind of unhealthy. But yeah its way more powerful than a cup of coffee, can leave you feeling drained the next day if you dont have a fix, that stimulation is on the verge of uncomfortable. Yes through my experience with yerba it can be negative and overwhelming.

That's cool. I just wish someone would come along with some proof about the negative effects of Mate. I really wanna read about them.
