look if nostradomus...web bot...and things of the such have already made predictions both thousands of years ago and/or only a few years ago and theyve came true...and now theyre making predictions about 2012 along with other sources...whos to say something catastrophic wont happen? ppl are always afraid of the armageddon. reasurring themselves by saying it will happen thousands of years from now. but u see....thousands of years ago ppl had already said that. it has to happen sooner or later. u never know. it could be sooner then we think

hardstyle_and_shufflin: every1 says its not gonna happen based on the fact that they dont want to have to deal with it. so theyy say ahhh hogwash thats not gonna happen, to reassure every its all just a scam, a joke, only an idea........but its not. those are all just lies. something huge is going to happen sooner or later. whether in 2012 or 45657 or tommorrow. in every culture, race, country, theres legends, stories, cults, religions, etc based around armeggedon.

hardstyle_and_shufflin: these arent just stories to scare u for a thrill. I'm pretty fucking damn sure humankind (most of it) is ignorant, scared, and doesnt want to deal with the real truth and reality

hardstyle_and_shufflin: just like how we can turn on the news then turn it off again quickly bc we dont want to have to think about the ppl getting raped and killed in somolia, or the wars in iraq. theyre uncomforting. we dont want to listen. we dont want to know. we shut it out. and return to our comfortable little homes and couches and warm food.

actually, many people believe that it genuinely won't happen (or at least on 2012)...they don't just say that because they are in a state of denial

and I doubt anyone actually said "hogwash" :smirk:

just because there are legends based upon it does not make it inevitable.  Maybe the concept of armageddon was created, not because it is a logical idea, but because it is a byproduct of religious teachings or it is a reflection of the egoistic desire to be rewarded for doing good, or to have those who have wronged you punished. 

I do agree that something 'huge' is going to happen in the future though

Maybe they are stories to scare you into submisison?  sAnd all humans are ignorant, though some less than others.  Don't forget, you are equally human as those whose beliefs you look down upon.  You are just as susceptible to delusion and false realities.

You may have a point with turning off the news because we don't want to see the ugliness in the world, but I also never turn on the news in the first place because I'd rather be doing millions of other things.
